Born and raised on the east coast,I spent my youth outdoors - skateboarding, riding off-road motorbikes in the mountains, racing BMX, caving, surfing and exploring nature - any destination that intentionally took me off the beaten path, especially if that path led to the ocean.
Photography was, literally, love at first sight. I can vividly remember being in my dad's darkroom, aka closet. As a teenager, my dad gave me my first camera: a Minolta X-G7, which inspired me to document anything and everything that sparked my interest.
After college I drove across the USA to pursue a career as a Marine Biologist and surf the West Coast of California, always with my camera. After working for four years as a High Seas Field Biologist for the Marine Mammal Protection agency of NMFS, I decided to course correct and study photography, all the while traveling internationally with my cameras and surfboards in search of the perfect picture and an empty wave.
Looking through the lens inspires and connects me with my humanity and humility, and I’m grateful to be enjoying life as a photographer.
